Sarah - great list! This is something every businessman/woman should read because it's true, but really the most important of your lessons that resonates so strongly with me is "enter with a plan and a purpose." It's been my experience that whenever a company falls short in social media it's because they had neither a plan or a valuable, emphasis on valuable, purpose to be there in the first place.

Great article, Sarah and great advice. I think a lot of big companies think they can just start a blog and feed it out to twitter and facebook but each platform needs it's own TLC. Otherwise they're showing their very social media savvy customers that they don't really care.

It's hard work, which is why it helps so much to have a company like yours to help navigate through it and come up with a plan.
